RAMALLAH, Sunday, November 25, 2018 (WAFA) – News about the uprooting of olive trees by Israeli settlers north of Ramallah made headlines of the front pages of the three Palestinian Arabic dailies on Sunday.

Al-Quds, al-Hayat al-Jadida and al-Ayyam said that extremist Jewish settlers on Saturday uprooted dozens of olive trees near the village of Turmus Ayya, northeast of Ramallah city in the occupied West Bank, adding that the settlers were under heavy protection of Israeli forces during the uprooting.

Al-Quds and al-Ayyam reported that according to Egyptian sources, Hamas gave an initial acceptance of Egypt’s proposals regarding national reconciliation.

Al-Ayyam said Israeli government is set to approve today on a plan to expand construction in two settlement outposts near Ramallah and Nablus.

Al-Hayat al-Jadida said Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah participated in the inauguration of a new emergency ward at Rafidya Hospital and an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the National Hospital in the northern West Bank city of Nablus, and said that ‘we will exert efforts so that our hospitals can still be able to offer the best services.”

Al-Ayyam and al-Hayat al-Jadida said that the municipality of Bethlehem has started preparations to celebrate Christmas 2018, adding that the official celebrations will begin in conjunction with the holding of the traditional annual press conference on Thursday at the Peace Center in Manger Square followed by the lighting of the Christmas tree on December 1.

Al-Quds said that Foreign Minister Riyad Malki on Saturday met in Rome on the sideline of the Mediterranean Dialogues – Rome-MED, with his the British Middle East Minister Alistair Burt, who reaffirmed Britain’s support for the two-state solution.
