Israeli court remands mother in custody for two days

JENIN, Saturday, November 24, 2018 (WAFA) – An Israeli military court on Saturday remanded Palestinian woman Eftekar Jamal Kmail from Qabatiya town in the West Bank for two more days in custody, her family told WAFA.

Kmail, a mother of three, was arrested on November 19 by Israeli soldiers at Qalandia checkpoint, on Ramallah-Jerusalem road, as she was coming back from a trip with relatives and friends to Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. The soldiers claimed that a knife she had on her possession was intended for a stabbing attack against the soldiers, which was categorically denied by her and her family.

The family said the knife was among other belongings, including food items, nuts and fruits, she had in her handbag for the trip.
