Infant injured after stones thrown by Israeli settlers hit her parents’ car on West Bank road

NABLUS, Monday, November 05, 2018 (WAFA) – A four-month old infant was injured on Sunday evening after a stone hit her parents’ car as it was travelling west of the northern West Bank city of Nablus, according to medical sources.

The infant was admitted to hospital in Nablus where she was treated for head wound. Her injury was reported light.

Ali Shawahneh, from the village of Kufr Thuluth, east of Qalqilya in the north of the West Bank, was heading home with his family when their car was attacked by settlers as they travelled near the illegal settlement of Havat Gilad.

Stones hit the car, prompting Shawahneh to slam on the breaks. As a result of the sudden break, his infant daughter’s head hit the glass causing her an injury.

Reports said an army vehicle came to the scene and held the family at the location while taking its statement on what happened while the Shawahneh infant was crying. No ambulance was called to the scene.

After they were allowed to leave, Shawahneh took his daughter to a hospital in Nablus.

A 45-year-old mother of eight, Aisha Rabi, was killed on October 13 after a car she was travelling in with her family was hit by a stone thrown by settlers near Nablus.

No one was arrested in any of the settlers’ attacks against Palestinians on West Bank roads.
