RAMALLAH, September 3, 2018 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Football Association (PFA) said on Monday that it is going to appeal the decision by FIFA banning its president Jibril Rajoub from attending football matches and fining him $20,000 for allegedly calling for violence against Argentinean player Lionel Messi following plans to play in Israel in May.
Rajoub described during a press conference the FIFA decision as unjust and political. He said FIFA made its decision based on a complaint by a right-wing Israeli who lives in an illegal settlement in the West Bank.
“The PFA will go the FIFA appeals court then the CAS and if this will not bring results, we will go to the civil courts in Switzerland and the European Union until we reach the International Criminal Court,” he said.
“We will continue to fight injustice we face in the PFA,” he stressed.
