Release of Palestinians conditioned on staying away from Al-Aqsa; five minors remain in custody

JERUSALEM, July 28, 2018 (WAFA) – The Israeli police released early Saturday over one dozen Palestinians arrested at Al-Aqsa Mosque earlier in the day and ordered them to stay away from the Muslim holy place located in Jerusalem’s Old City for one week. Five minors, however, remained in custody, the Palestinian Prisoner Society said on Saturday.

The released Palestinians were also ordered to pay around $1370 bail.

The five minors who remained in custody at the Russian Compound Police Station in West Jerusalem range in age between 15 and 17 years of age.

The Palestinians were detained after police raided Al-Aqsa Mosque area immediately following the end of the Friday prayer as thousands of people were attending the weekly worship.
