RAMALLAH, June 4, 2018 (WAFA) – Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah, and after consulting with President Mahmoud Abbas, decided on Monday to dissolve the Higher Security Committee, which was formed more than 10 years ago to deal with the chaos, mainly by local armed gangs, that existed in the occupied Palestinian territories following the Israeli army’s reoccupation of the West Bank in 2002.
A statement by the prime minister’s office said the decision to dissolve the committee was made after it has completed its work in putting an end to the armed chaos, brought security and stability to the Palestinian cities and brought those responsible for it to justice.
Hamdallah said that the security forces are going to continue working among them to consolidate the law and bring security and safety for the country and its citizens, achieving stability in all cities and implementing the principles of human rights.
