RAMALLAH, June 2, 2018 (WAFA) – A Palestinian was Saturday killed by Israeli forces near al-Ibrahimi mosque in the Old City of Hebron, the southern occupied West Bank, said the Palestinian Health Ministry.
Security sources and witnesses said Israeli soldiers shot dead Rami Wahid Sabarneh, 36, a father of three, while he was driving a skid loader as part of working with a contractor to expand the road and rehabilitate infrastructure in Jaber neighborhood.
They added that the soldiers prevented medical staff from approaching Sabarneh, who was pronounced dead later.
Aref Jaber, a local anti-settlement activist who lives near the area, said that Sabarneh was driving a skid loader, and because of its loud noise he could not hear soldiers warnings to stop.
He added that Sabarneh did not pose any danger to the soldiers who opened gunfire at him and injured him before leaving him to bleed to death on the ground.
Soldiers wrapped Sabarneh’s body in a black plastic bag before taking him away via an ambulance.
Israeli military alleged Sabarneh was killed as he attempted to ram his skid loader into soldiers. No injuries were reported among soldiers through.
