Weather forecast: Temperature higher than annual average

 

RAMALLAH, May 27, 2018 (WAFA) – Weather on Sunday is partially cloudy to hot and very hot with no significant change in temperature, remaining six degrees Celsius above the annual average, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).

Wind is northwesterly to northeasterly, light to moderate and active at times. Sea waves are low.

Temperature on Sunday is expected to reach a high of 30 degrees Celsius in the Gaza Strip and most of the West Bank with the exception of the Jordan Valley where temperature is expected to reach a high in mid to upper 30s. Temperature, however, drops at night to the low to low and mid-20s in most areas.

Weather on Monday is partially cloudy to cloudy and mild in the mountains, relatively hot in other areas. Temperature is expected to significantly drop while remaining two degrees Celsius above the annual average. A chance of scattered rain showers along with thunderstorms at times is expected on some areas.

A slight drop in temperature is expected for Tuesday, and weather is expected to be partially cloudy and clear in the mountains and relatively hot in other areas. A slight chance of scattered rain showers is likely for some areas.

Temperature drops further on Wednesday setting back to its seasonal average.

PMD warns citizens of direct sun exposure for long periods on Friday and Saturday, especially during peak hours between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., and of the dangers of setting fire to dry grass.
