JORDAN, May 26, 2018 (WAFA) - The Arab Permanent Committee on Human Rights called on Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court to open a prompt investigation into Israeli occupation’s ongoing crimes against the Palestinian people and their land.
The committee’s chairman, Amjad Shamout, slammed in a press statement Israel as “a usurper and murderous entity” whose leaders and politicians must be brought before the International Criminal Court (ICC), urging ICC prosecutor to promptly begin investigating the crimes of [Israeli] occupation.
He called on the United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres to take the necessary legal measures to end the Israeli occupation, and put a stop to US measures that contradict international law and are hostile to the rights of the Palestinian people and international peace and security.
He stressed the need to undertake the appropriate legal measures to counter ‘this American aggression’; following its latest relocation of its embassy from Tel Aviv to occupied Jerusalem.
The official recently paid a visit to Palestinians who were injured by Israeli army during the ‘The Great March of Return’ non-violent protests along the Israeli-Gaza barrier.
