Weather: Mainly sunny, relatively warm conditions to prevail

 

RAMALLAH, May 24, 2018 (WAFA) – Weather on Thursday is partially cloudy to clear and relatively warm to warm in daytime as temperature is set to drop and approach two degrees Celsius (°C) above the seasonal average, said the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).

Weather becomes mainly clear and slightly cold at nighttime. Wind is northwesterly to southwesterly, light to moderate, and occasionally active. Sea waves are low to medium.

Temperature in Jerusalem is set to reach a high of 28°C on Thursday and a low of 20°C and in Ramallah a high of 27°C and a low of 19°C. In Jericho and the Jordan Valley, temperature is set to reach a high of 38°C and a low of 26°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 28°C and a low of 22°C in Gaza.

Partially cloudy skies and relatively warm conditions are expected during morning hours on Friday, giving way to occasional showers in the afternoon. Temperature is set to rise and approach 5°C above the seasonal average.

PMD anticipates Saturday’s weather to be partially cloudy to clear and relatively warm to warm in mountainous areas and very warm in the Jordan Valley.

Sunday’s temperature is expected to drop and approach 3°C above the seasonal average. Partially cloudy and relatively warm conditions are expected in daytime, giving way to the possibility of sporadic light rain developing during the afternoon and relatively cold conditions at nighttime.

PMD warns citizens of direct sun exposure for long periods on Friday and Saturday, especially during peak hours between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., and of the dangers of setting fire to dry grass.
