Weather: Warm to very warm conditions to prevail

 

RAMALLAH, May 22, 2018 (WAFA) – Weather on Tuesday is warm to very warm, dry and dusty in daytime and  partly cloudy and warm in nighttime, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).

Temperatures are set to rise and approach nine degrees Celsius (°C) above the seasonal average. Wind is northeasterly to southeasterly, light to moderate, and active at times. Sea waves are low.

Temperature in Jerusalem is set to reach a high of 34°C and a low of 25°C and in Ramallah a high of 32°C and a low of 24°C. In Jericho and the Jordan Valley, temperature is set to reach a high of 42°C and a low of 30°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 33°C and a low of 24°C in Gaza.

PMD predicts weather on Wednesday to remain relatively warm to very warm, dusty and dry. Temperatures are expected to drop and approach six °C higher than the seasonal average.

Mainly clear, sunny and relatively warm conditions are expected to prevail on Thursday. Temperatures are set to drop and approach three °C higher than the seasonal average.

Partially cloudy to clear,  and relatively warm to warm conditions are expected for Friday. Temperatures are expected to slightly rise and become four °C above the annual average.

PMD warns citizens of direct sun exposure for long periods on Tuesday and Wednesday, especially during peak hours, especially between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., and of the dangers of setting fire to dry grass.
