JERUSALEM, May 14, 2018 (WAFA) – British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson Monday expressed concern at events in Gaza and said the UK does not agree with the US decision to move its embassy to Jerusalem
Speaking this afternoon following a meeting with his French Counterpart, Jean-Yves le Drian, UK Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson expressed concern about the violence and casualties seen in Gaza today.
He said “we [in the UK] are extremely saddened by the loss of life that has taken place [in Gaza today]. [Whilst] we understand that some people have been provoking that violence... there’s [also] got to be a restraint in the use of live fire.”
Commenting on the opening of the US Embassy in Jerusalem he said, “we don’t agree with the decision of the US to move their Embassy. We continue to think that is playing the wrong card at the wrong time, but we remain absolutely committed to a two-state solution.”
