NABLUS, May 10, 2018 (WAFA) – Israeli authorities notified Palestinians from the village of Huwwara, to the south of Nablus in the West Bank, of an order to confiscate a 1.5-dunum area of land in the village, according to local sources.
Ghassan Daghlas, who monitors settlement activities in the area, told WAFA that Israeli army notified to take over the land for the benefit of the nearby illegal Israeli settlement of Yitzhar.
In February 2017, the Israeli Knesset passed a controversial law that would legalize the expropriation of privately-owned Palestinian land for the benefit of the Israeli settlement enterprise in the occupied Palestinian territories.
