RAMALLAH, May 8, 2018 (WAFA) – May 14, the day the United State plans to open its embassy in Jerusalem, has been declared by Palestinians as a day of rage in Palestine and around the world, according to Ahmad Majdalani, member of the executive committee of the Palestine Liberation organization.
He told Voice of Palestine radio that opening the embassy in Jerusalem is a challenge to the international community and United Nations resolutions as well as a provocation for feelings of the Palestinians.
Moving the US embassy on the day the Palestinians mark the 70th anniversary of their nakba, catastrophe, is adding insult to injury and a deepening of a historical injustice perpetrated against Palestinian people, he added.
Majdalani said the Palestinian leadership will respond to the US move by reviving the Palestinian Jerusalem municipality, referring a number of issues to International Criminal Court, and joining international agencies, in addition to other different steps including enhancing popular resistance.
