Hamdallah calls on Germany to Support President Abbas’ proposed peace plan

 

RAMALLAH, May 2, 2018 (WAFA) – Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah Wednesday called on Germany to support President Mahmoud Abbas’ proposed peace plan in order to end the Israeli occupation and reach a just and comprehensive solution for the Palestinian issue.

the proposed peace plan which is based on the Arab Peace Initiative calls for holding an international peace conference in the mid 2018 that is based on international resolutions.

This came during a meeting held between Hamdallah and Minister President of Brandenburg Dietmar Woidke at the prime minister’s headquarters in Ramallah.

Hamdallah briefed Woidke on the latest political developments and ongoing Israeli violations against the Palestinian people, particularly the killing of peaceful protesters on Gaza borders and the ongoing settlement expansion, demolition of homes, and seizure of land.

Hamdallah praised  Germany‘s continued support for Palestine in many fields, stressing the need to promote cooperation, particularly in the field of education, between Palestine and Brandenburg; one of the sixteen federated states of Germany.

Hamdallah reiterated the Palestinian leadership’s rejection to the position of US President Donald Trump toward the peace process, particularly regarding the final status issues, and his recognition of Jerusalem as capital of Israel and moving US embassy there, in addition to his attempts to impose the so-called ‘Deal of the Century.”
