Fatah: arrangements to convene national council completed

RAMALLAH, April 30, 2018 (WAFA) - Azzam al-Ahmad, member of the Fatah Central Committee Monday said that all arrangements for the convening of the Palestinian National Council’s 23rd session have been completed.

In an interview with voice of Palestine radio, al-Ahmad said the council will conduct a comprehensive review of the political process and the peace process since 1993, and ways to counter all dangers undermining the Palestinian cause, particularly US President Donald Trump’s declaration of Jerusalem as capital of Israel.

He said the council is required to study the transitioning of the Palestinian Authority into a state and to define the Palestinian-Israeli relations in light of Israel‘s failure to implement the agreements signed with the PLO.

Al-Ahmad said mechanisms to promote peaceful popular resistance and the election of all leadership bodies will also be discussed.
