RAMALLAH, April 29, 2018 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Arabic dailies focused on Sunday on the death of a Palestinian minor from Khan Younes, in southern Gaza Strip, from wounds he sustained after he was shot and seriously injured by Israeli forces during the protests of the Great March of Return at Gaza border on Friday.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida, al-Quds and al-Ayyam said 15-year-old Azzam Helal Eweda died on Saturday of his wounds which he sustained after he was shot and seriously injured by Israeli forces during the protests of the Great March of Return at Gaza border on Friday.
Al-Ayyam and al-Hayat al-Jadida said the government spokesman Yousef al-Mahmoud condemned the “allegations” by Hamas movement, the de facto authority in Gaza, in which the former accused sides in the West Bank-based Palestinian intelligence of being behind the assassination attempt of Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah and head of the Palestinian Intelligence Majed Faraj on March 13 in Gaza.
The two dailies highlighted a statement by Nabil Abu Rudeineh, spokesman for President Mahmoud Abbas, who said that the Palestinian people and their leadership “have buried all plots against our national project and attempts to establish an alternative or local leadership as well as attempts to divide the Palestinian national ranks.”
Al-Ayyam said a Palestinian man was shot and seriously injured by Israeli forces during clashes in the village of Kafr Qaddoum, to the east of Qalqilia in the West Bank.
The daily said according to reports by medical doctors in the Gaza Strip, Israeli forces used explosive bullets against non-violent protesters participating in the ongoing Great March of Return at Gaza border.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida said Palestine’s EU ambassador Abdul Rahim Farra said none of the European Union (EU) member states is going to move its embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem as confirmed by the EU’s foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini.
Al-Ayyam said Israeli authorities handed notifications on Saturday to confiscate 42 dunums of land in the village of al-Khader, to the south of Bethlehem in the occupied West Bank.
