Palestinian beaten to death by Israeli army laid to rest

JERICHO, March 29, 2018 (WAFA) – Thousands of mourners in Jericho, east of the West Bank, participated on Thursday in the funeral procession of deceased Yasin Saradeeh  who was beaten to death and shot by Israeli army on February 22 as they were arresting him.

Saradih’s body has been withheld by the Israeli army ever since and was only released to his family on Thursday morning.

His family and witnesses said that Israeli forces severely beat him after detaining him and that he was in a good health before his arrest and did not suffer from any health problem.

According to the the Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs Commission, an autopsy revealed that Saradeeh died from a live bullet shot by Israeli forces at a point-blank range into his lower abdomen.

The autopsy revealed that the bullet entered Saradeeh’s lower abdomen, causing an internal bleeding and the rupture of the artery and the vein before exiting from his back, which refutes Israeli claims that he died as a result of teargas inhalation.

The autopsy was carried out in Israel’s Abu Kabir Forensic Institute, and attended by Palestinian pathologist Rayyan al-Ali after Israel agreed to his participation.
