Turkey condemns attempt on life of prime minister

 

ANKARA, March 14, 2018 (WAFA) – Turkey condemned on Wednesday the attempt on the life of Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah in Gaza, calling for bringing the perpetrators to justice.

Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim congratulated Hamdallah for not being harmed and called for the arrest of the perpetrators and bringing them to justice.

He also wished “quick recovery for the wounded in the attack as well as prosperity and progress for the friendly and brotherly Palestinian people.” He also stressed the importance of peace and reconciliation between the Palestinians at this critical period.

Yildirim reiterated his government’s continuous support for the Palestinian people.

Turkey’s Foreign Ministry also condemned the assassination attempt.

“We strongly condemn the armed attack against the convoy of Palestinian Prime Minister Hamdallah in Gaza,” it said in a statement.

“We wish a speedy recovery to the wounded and expect the perpetrators of this attack to be identified as soon as possible.

“We wish that our Palestinian brothers act in unity and solidarity against this provocative attack,’ it said.
