PCHR Report: Israel used excessive force against Palestinians in West Bank, Gaza on Friday

GAZA, December 9, 2017 (WAFA) - The Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR) Saturday said Israel has used excessive force against Palestinian civilians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

It said in a report published Saturday that the Israeli army killed four Palestinians and injured 259 Palestinians, including 32 children and four women, in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank on Friday night.

It said the announcement by US President Donald Trump to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and to transfer the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem have ignited tensions across the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.

The center said Israel used excessive force against the protestors and through targeting several locations by Israeli warplanes. The increasing number of injuries and dead civilians is an indication of Israel’s disregard of Palestinians lives.

PCHR expressed concern over the deterioration of the situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territory and condemned the use of excessive force by the Israeli occupation forces against the demonstrators and called on the international community and UN agencies to intervene to stop Israel’s escalating violations.
