JERUSALEM, March 8, 2017 (WAFA) – Israeli police arrested on Wednesday morning three Islamic Awqaf employees in the compound of al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied East Jerusalem.
WAFA correspondent said Israeli police arrested Bassam al-Hallaq, head of the reconstruction committee at the Mosque, in addition to two other Awqaf employees, under the pretext that the three refused to obey the orders of the police to stop ongoing restoration works at the compound.
The three are employees of the Jordanian Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, in charge of managing the administrative affairs at the compound.
