BETHLEHEM, March 7, 2017 (WAFA) – Israeli forces closed on Tuesday a road in the town of Taqou, east of Bethlehem in the occupied West Bank, local sources said.
The road, which is used by students to reach a school in the area, was closed with barbed wires by Israeli forces.
Taqou municipality director Tayseer Abu Mufareh told WAFA that the closed road was recently constructed in order for students to use to access their school, in a way that keeps them safe from potential assaults by Israeli soldiers.
He added that soldiers occupied a Palestinian house in the area and transformed it into a watch site.
In February 2017, Israeli forces closed roads connecting main villages in Bethlehem, forcing Palestinians to use bypass roads that pass near Jewish settlements and causing delays.
