RAMALLAH, March 5, 2017 (WAFA) – Israeli forces last night detained eight Palestinians from several cities in the occupied West Bank, the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) said in a statement.
PPS said that Israeli forces detained four Palestinians from the village of Marah Rabah, and one from Dheisheh refugee camp, south of the city of Bethlehem.
Soldiers also detained two people from the town of Beit Kahel, and another from the town of Beit Ummar, in the district of Hebron. Another Palestinian from the Old City in Jerusalem was also detained by Israeli police.
To be noted, eight more Palestinians were detained on Friday and Saturday.
A recent study released by the Palestinian Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association said that the total number of Palestinian political prisoners in Israeli prisons is 6,500, with 536 of them being administrative detainees, 300 minors and 53 females.
