Israeli forces detain 10 Palestinians in West Bank raids

RAMALLAH, February 28, 2017 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Tuesday detained ten Palestinians, including a girl and two minors, during predawn raids across the West Bank, said Palestine Prisoner’s Society (PPS).

Israeli police detained two Palestinians after storming their homes during separate raids into Shufat neighborhood and As-Sawahira Ash-Sharqiya town, south of East Jerusalem.

Elsewhere in the southern West Bank, Israeli forces detained two Palestinians during separate raids into Beit Fajjar and Husan towns, south and west of Bethlehem.

This came as troops set up checkpoints at the entrances of Beit Fajjar town and Ush Ghurab neighborhood in Beit Sahour town, stopping Palestinian-registered vehicles and checking passengers’ ID cards and mobiles. 

Israeli police also set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Marah Rabah village, south of Bethlehem, issuing fines for Palestinian drivers.

Meanwhile, forces detained three Palestinians, including a 16-year-old minor and 24-year-old girl, during raids across Hebron district.

In the northern West Bank, soldiers handcuffed and detained two Palestinians after ransacking their family homes during a raid into Tayasir village, east of Tubas.

Another Palestinian was detained during a raid into Nablus district.
