Producer Price Index down in January 2017

RAMALLAH, February 28, 2017 (WAFA) - The overall Producer Price Index (PPI) for the January 2017 decreased by 3.95% compared to December 2016, the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) said on Tuesday.

The PPI for locally consumed products decreased by 4.66%, whereas increased by 0.79% for exported products.

Prices of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply decreased by 28.12%; manufacturing by 0.25%, and mining and quarrying went down by 1.43%.

Meanwhile, prices of agriculture, forestry and fishing goods went up by 5.06%; and water supply; sewerage, waste management and remediation activities by 4.16%, said PCBS.
