AMMAN, February 18, 2017 (WAFA) – The Palestinian cause is a priority issue and the core of the conflicts in the Middle East as long as the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian land continues and in the absence of justice to the Palestinian people, Jordanian government spokesman Mohammad Moumani said on Saturday.

Speaking at the opening session of a Model United Nations conference for high school students from Jordan, Palestine and Pakistan held in the Jordanian capital, Moumani stressed that Jordan focuses on several issues through its membership in the UN, particularly the Palestinian cause, which Jordan considers a priority issue, as reported by the Jordanian Petra news agency.

Moumani said it was important to find a comprehensive and just solution to the Palestinian issue, explaining Jordan’s role in defending and protecting Islamic and Christian holy places in occupied Jerusalem since Jordan is the official custodian over these sites.
