Israeli forces detain five Palestinians in Hebron

HEBRON, February 18, 2017 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Saturday detained five people from the Hebron district, Palestinian security and local sources said.

They told WAFA that Israeli forces raided Fawwar refugee camp near Hebron and detained three people after searching and ransacking their homes.

Two other Palestinians were detained at the military checkpoint south of Hebron, said the sources.

Soldiers raided early Saturday the residence of Jihad Irsheid, in the center of Hebron, and handed him an order to appear before the Israeli intelligence.

Irsheid’s daughter, Dania, 17, was shot and killed in October 26, 2015 by Israeli soldiers near the Ibrahimi mosque on allegation she had a knife, and his son, Uday, 24, was shot dead by Israeli soldiers on December 11, 2015 during clashes in Hebron.

An Israeli army unit also broke into a bookshop owned by Majdi Karaki near the Palestine Polytechnic University in the center of Hebron and seized some files and computers.
