RAMALLAH, February 15, 2017 (WAFA) – Israeli forces detained 16 Palestinians from the West Bank in overnight raids, the Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) said in a statement on Wednesday.
It said Israeli forces detained five Palestinians, three of whom were minors, from the Ramallah area, while six Palestinians, including a minor and a journalist, were detained from the Hebron district.
Soldiers also detained four people, one of whom was a minor, from the Qalqilya area, as well as one person from Kufr Aqab, north of Jerusalem, and another from Bethlehem.
The Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association said that there are 6500 Palestinians political prisoners in Israeli prisons, as of January 2017.
