RAMALLAH, December 21, 2016 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Tuesday closed the iron gate placed at the entrance to Nabi Saleh village, north of Ramallah, which also leads to the nearby Bani Zeid al-Sharqiya villages.
Israeli forces have intensified their military measures in the area in an apparent collective punishment against Palestinians there in the aftermath of a series of alleged shooting attacks against Israelis in the area.
The gate has been closed for the past three days, forcing Palestinians to use alternative long roads to reach services and livelihoods.
On Monday, large Israeli forces stormed the village of Beit Rima, near Nabi Saleh, spurring violent clashes with residents. A 17-year-old resident who was identified as Ahmad Rimawi was fatally shot during the clashes.
