RAMALLAH, Jul 19, 2016 (WAFA) – The demolition of the family house of a Palestinian detainee who purportedly transferred three Palestinian attackers to Jerusalem in February in the Jenin town of Qabatiya hit the front page headlines in Palestinian dailies.

The three dailies said Israeli forces demolished the family house of a Palestinian detainee during a predawn raid that sparked violent clashes in Qabatiya town.

They explained that Israeli troops shot and injured five Palestinians with live ammunition, including a Palestinian who sustained a serious injury.

The shooting and injuring of a Palestinian in the southern West Bank district of Hebron also hit the front page headlines in the dailies.

The dailies said a Palestinian was shot and injured after he allegedly carried out a stabbing attack, wounding two Israeli soldiers near al-Arrub refugee camp in the Hebron district.

Al-Ayyam explained in this respect that the Palestinian man sustained serious injuries.

Furthermore, al-Quds and al-Ayyam reported that a Palestinian boy was injured after being run over by an Israeli settler to the east of Yatta town in the southern West Bank district of Hebron.

It is worth noting that the Palestinian boy, 12, was reportedly moderately injured in the hit-and-run attack. Al-Ayyam added in this regard that rather than stopping and providing first aid treatment to the child, the settler sped away.

Highlighting a bill to “annex” the Israeli settlement bloc of Maale Adumin, east of Jerusalem, to Israel, al-Quds and al-Ayyam said that should the bill be presented to the Knesset for voting, it would be supported by the majority of Knesset members.

Al-Hayat Al-Jadida and Al-Ayyam reported Director-General of Border Crossings Nazmi Muhanna as demanding Israel to open al-Karama (Allenby) border crossing, that connects the West Bank and Jordan, 24 hours a day, citing Palestinian travelers congestion.

Al-Ayyam and al-Hayat Al-Jadida quoted Israeli opposition leader Yitzhak Hertzog as stating: “We are on the verge of an uprising of hatred…” which would “lead to a civil war.”

Regionally, the three dailies highlighted Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s ongoing crackdown or “clean-up operations” on Turkish soldiers and generals accused of plotting the coup attempt.

Al-Quds said the EU and the US have demanded Erdogan to exercise “self-restraint” and not to be drawn into a spiral of violence.

Al-Ayyam said Erdogan was proceeding with the “clean-up operation” against his adversaries, detaining 7,543 soldiers and judges and sacking 9,000 officers.
