BETHELEHEM, October 6, 2015 (WAFA) – Eight Palestinians Tuesday afternoon were shot and injured, while dozens others suffocated overnight by tear gas inhalation, during renewed clashes across Bethlehem district, said witnesses and medical sources.

On Tuesday, clashes renewed at the northern entrance of Bethlehem city, following the funeral procession of Abdul-Rahman Shadi Mustafa, 13, who succumbed to serious wounds he sustained after  Israeli soldiers shot him with live ammunition in the chest while returning from school amidst violent clashes in Aida refugee camp to the north of Bethlehem on Monday.

Eight Palestinian locals were reportedly shot with rubber bullets during the clashes, two of whom were transferred to hospital for medical treatment, where their condition was described as moderate. Several other locals suffered from tear gas suffocation and were treated at the scene.

Overnight Monday, Israeli forces fired tear gas canisters at Palestinian locals and their homes during clashes that broke out in Husan village, west of the city, causing several to suffocate.

Israeli forces also raided al-Khader locality of at-Tal, south of the city, firing tear gas canisters and stun grenades at Palestinian locals, causing several to suffer from tear gas inhalation.

Furthermore, a total of 55 Palestinians, including children from Ash-Shwiki family suffocated as Israeli forces fired tear gas canisters into their houses during clashes at the northern entrance of the city.

Director of the Palestinian Red Crescent First Aid and Emergency Section Mohammad ‘Awad reported that PRC paramedics evacuated 55 members of the As-Shwiki family from their apartments and treated them from the effects of tear gas inhalation.
