HEBRON, September 22, 2015 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Tuesday morning
shot and injured a Palestinian woman at the Container military checkpoint in central
Hebron in the southern West Bank.
Witnesses and local sources told WAFA that Israeli forces stationed
at the checkpoint opened direct fire on Hadil al-Hashlamon, 18, while she was
crossing the turnstile, injuring her in the abdomen.
Israeli military was reported as alleging that Hadil was shot for
attempting to carry out a stabbing attack and that the shooting took place
around 8:00 AM.
An Israeli military spokeswoman was also reported as alleging that
Hadil approached the checkpoint to carry out the “attack”, when Israeli forces
responded by firing “toward the perpetrator”.
Israeli soldiers prevented a Palestinian Red Crescent ambulance
from approaching the scene and left Hadil bleeding for about half an hour
before she was taken by an Israeli ambulance to the illegal Israeli settlement
of Kiryat Arba.
No Israeli soldiers were injured during the incident.
Her father, the head of the Anesthesia Department of the Al-Ahli
Hospital in Hebron, and its former General Director, Dr. Salaheddin Hashlamoun,
said his daughter is a first-year student at the Hebron University, said the
Middle East Center.
Meanwhile, a Palestinian
youth was killed on Tuesday after Israeli forces opened fire on him,
leaving him to bleed to death, near the village of Kharsa to the south of Hebron.
