RAMALLAH, September 20, 2015
(WAFA) – The three Palestinian Arabic dailies Sunday focused on calls made by a
yeshiva school for Jewish settlers to take part in a large-scale entry to al-Aqsa
Mosque compound in Jerusalem, a move that will ultimately spark intense clashes
between the Israeli police, settlers and Palestinian worshipers.
Meanwhile, al-Hayat al-Jadida
said Egyptian President Abdul-Fattah el-Sisi warned against the consequences of
the daily Israeli violations in al-Aqsa Mosque.
On a different subject,
al-Ayyam said the Israeli government is set to approve on Sunday an act that
allows the Israeli police to use live ammunition against “stone-throwers” in
Jerusalem.
Al-Quds said Israeli police
also warned to detain stone throwers in the aftermath of recent Israeli escalation in
al-Aqsa Mosque and the entire city.
Al-Ayyam said Israeli security
and military sources warned against an imminent outbreak in the situation in
the occupied West Bank, in light of the situation in Jerusalem.
It reported that dozens of
Palestinian activists suffocated by teargas used by the Israeli army and police
during confrontations on Saturday in the West Bank districts of Jenin and
Qalqilia as well as Jerusalem.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida quoted a
report by the Israeli Ynet news, saying that the Jerusalem “children of stones”
– in reference for youth and children who throw stones at Israeli police at
times of clashes – are not afraid of the penalties imposed against them by the
Israeli government.
Al-Ayyam said a Palestinian was
injured in an Israeli airstrike which targeted a location in Jabalia refugee
camp on Saturday.
