Israel Detains 10 Palestinians in West Bank, Jerusalem

HEBRON, September 9, 2015 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Wednesday detained 10 Palestinians from across the West Bank, including Jerusalem, according to local and security sources.

In Hebron, forces detained  four Palestinian youths during an Israeli army predawn raid on the towns of Surif and Dura. Ahed Ghnaimat, 25, Mahmoud al-Qadi, 36, and Mohammed Ghnaimat, 25, were detained from Surif, while Nasr Rjoub, 25, was detained after forces raided his home in Dura.

Israeli soldiers also detained two Palestinians from Ramallah’s al-Jalazoun Refugee Camp; forces detained Ihab al-Badawi, and Khaled Masarweh, after raiding and searching their homes, amid firing stun grenades, spurring clashes with the provoked locals. However, no injuries  were reported.

A member of the popular committee in the camp, Mohammed Arar, said that the detention of the aforementioned Palestinians brings the total number of the camp locals who are currently incarcerated in Israeli jails to 95 people.

In Tulkarem, forces detained at dawn 23-year-old Mosa’ab Iqtish after raiding and searching his family’s home in the village of Atil.

Meanwhile, Israeli police detained three Palestinian youths after raiding their homes in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of al-Tur and led them to an interrogation and detention center in the city of Jerusalem. They were identified as Hamd Abu al-Hawa, Majdi al-Syyad, and Shadi Khwais.

According to OCHA weekly report covering the period between 25 and 31 of August 2015, “Israeli forces carried out a total of 68 search and arrest operations, three of which involved violent clashes.”
