Israel Arrests 23 in West Bank, 18 Youths from One Family

BETHLEHEM, March 10, 2015 (WAFA) – At least 23 Palestinians were arrested by the Israeli army last night, most of whom during predawn and night raids across the West Bank, according to local and security sources.

Most of these arrests were concentrated in the village of Takou' near Bethlehem, where about 18 Palestinian teenagers were arrested from the same family, after their homes were raided and searched by the army.

The 18 youths arrested from the Sabah family were identified as, Marwan, 18, Zakaria, 19, Ibrahim, 17, Jafar, 19, Mamoun, 19, Mohammad Salim, 22, Izz, 20, Saher, Thaer, 20, Ayyoub, 18, Amjad, 22, Atiya, Sami Sabah, 22, Mohammad, Ahmad, Mohammad Suleiman, Ahmad Riyad, 18, and Maher.

Meanwhile, an army force broke into the city of Nablus, where at least three Palestinians were reportedly arrested. They three were identified as Mohammad Ramahi, Adham Mabrouka and Kamil Kayal.

In the meantime, army broke into the town of Ya’bad, west of Jenin, and arrested 21-year-old Nour Jawabrah, 21, after raiding his house and his brother’s house in search of them.

Hours later, the army set a flying checkpoint near Jenin, where they arrested 22-year-old Hassan Hassis.

The army also stormed the village of Bal’in, to the west of Ramallah, raided and searched several houses. There were no reports of arrests, however.

Meanwhile in Hebron, confrontations erupted between Israeli soldiers and Palestinians near the Old City of Hebron. The soldiers fired teargas canisters and stun grenades, causing multiple cases of suffocation among school students.
