RAMALLAH,
July 13, 2014 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Arabic dailies highlighted in their
Sunday issue the recent Israeli bombardment and massacres in the Gaza Strip, in
addition to the UN Security Council’s call for an immediate ceasefire and for
the protection of civilians.
Al-Quds:
- A horrific [Israeli]
massacre [in Gaza] leaves 18 people killed and 42 injured after shelling a
house as worshipers were leaving a mosque.
- UN Security Council calls
for a ceasefire in Gaza and for protecting the civilians.
- Confrontations [broke out]
following Taraweeh Prayer in Jerusalem, while ‘Yitzhar’ settlers set fire to
olive trees.
- A Palestinian source:
intensified international communications [are underway] to reach a truce in
Gaza.
- Hamas and Islamic Jihad:
[we] will not return to 2012 [ceasefire] understandings, amid warning to use
‘new elements’ that would surprise the Israelis.
- The Political Commission
