HEBRON,
April 2, 2014 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Wednesday arrested five people in Hebron,
Bethlehem, Jenin, while settlers attacked two minors, in addition to three
arrests in Jerusalem, according to local and security sources.
In
Hebron, army forces arrested a 24-year-old near Etzion military compound, while
they arrested two youths, in their twenties, after raiding and searching their
homes and sabotaging with the content.
Security
sources said Israeli settlers assaulted and severely beat up two children, 6
and 13, in Hebron before they were transferred to hospital for medical
treatment. Soldiers also beat up a youth in Hebron old city, and he was
transferred to hospital.
The
Israeli forces set several checkpoints at the entrance to many villages and
towns in Hebron district, checking identity cards of the passengers and causing
a traffic jam.
In
Bethlehem district, Israeli forces arrested a 24-year-old from Qalandiya
refugee camp near Jerusalem while he was visiting his in-laws in Beit Jala to
the west of Bethlehem.
Meanwhile
in Jenin, forces stormed the town of Ya’bad amid firing stun grenades and tear
gas canisters in the vicinity of a school, provoking residents and leading to
confrontations. Several people sustained suffocation by tear gas, but no
arrests were reported.
Forces
further arrested a youth, 33, from the village of Al-Yamoun near Jenin while he
was passing through Al-Hamra checkpoint in the northern Jordan Valley.
Meanwhile,
director of the prisoners’ club in Jerusalem, Nasser Qaws, said Israeli police
arrested three people, including a teenager, after raiding either their homes
or workplace in Jerusalem.
