NEW YORK, April 8, 2026 (WAFA) – UNHCR spokesperson Babar Baloch stated that the humanitarian situation in Lebanon is deteriorating daily due to the ongoing Israeli aggression.

He indicated that the Israeli aggression has displaced over one million people, equivalent to approximately one-fifth of the country's population, according to the UN official.

Baloch added, "During the past month (March), we witnessed Israeli evacuation orders followed by attacks, leading to the continuous movement of people within Lebanon."

He pointed out that the escalation of Israeli attacks on Lebanon has resulted in the displacement of over one million people, most of whom are living in a state of disability and have suffered psychological trauma.

The UN official noted that the displaced are residing in collective shelters amidst harsh living conditions.
