KUWAIT, April 2, 2026 (WAFA) – The State of Kuwait has condemned the Israeli Knesset’s approval of a law permitting the execution of Palestinian prisoners, describing it as a flagrant violation of international laws and norms, particularly provisions of international humanitarian law concerning prisoners and detainees.
In a statement issued by its Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kuwait said the move represents a dangerous escalation aimed at legitimizing and entrenching systematic killing policies. It added that the law reflects a direction toward institutionalizing practices based on racial discrimination, violating the human rights of the Palestinian people and undermining international efforts to promote respect for human rights and achieve justice.
Kuwait also expressed concern over the conditions of Palestinian detainees in Israeli prisons amid serious violations and inhumane practices, including ill-treatment, torture, starvation, and deprivation of basic rights.
The State of Kuwait called on the international community and the UN Security Council to assume their legal and humanitarian responsibilities by taking deterrent measures to halt these unlawful policies and practices, ensure necessary protection for Palestinian prisoners in accordance with international law and relevant conventions, and hold those responsible for crimes against them accountable.
