JEDDAH, February 27, 2026 (WAFA) – Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Minister Varsen Shahin on Friday briefed her Maldivian counterpart Abdulla Khaleel on the recent serious developments in the occupied Palestinian Territory.
During a meeting held on the sidelines of the emergency open-ended meeting of the executive committee of the OIC at the level of foreign ministers, in the attendance of Palestine's permanent representative to the OIC, Ambassador Hadi Shibli, Minister Shahin apprised her Maldivian counterpart, Khaleel, of the recent dangerous developments, with a focus on Israel’s illegal measures aimed at advancing the de facto annexation of the West Bani in violation of international law.
They stressed the need not only to swiftly transform condemnations into practical steps that would reinforce accountability and support the Palestinian people’s inalienable rights, but also to intensify coordination in such a way that helps end the Israeli occupation and bring about just and lasting peace.
