French Foreign Minister stresses importance of unhindered access of aid to Gaza

PARIS, February 24, 2026 (WAFA) – French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot stressed on Tuesday the importance of unhindered access of aid to the Gaza Strip.

“The aid must be allowed to reach civilian populations without hindrance, alongside whom we remain mobilized,” he posted on X.

He added that France delivered 80 tons of food aid to Gaza on Monday, noting that “the humanitarian situation remains difficult despite the ceasefire. 320 tons are still waiting to be delivered.”

Israel has waged a military onslaught on the Strip since October 2023, killing 72,073 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injuring 171,756 others.

Moreover, at least 10,000 people are unaccounted for, presumed dead under the rubble of their homes throughout the Strip.

The Israeli aggression has also resulted in the forceful displacement of nearly two million people from all over the Gaza Strip, with the vast majority of the displaced forced into the densely crowded southern city of Rafah near the border with Egypt – in what has become Palestine’s largest mass exodus since the 1948 Nakba.
