BAGHDAD, February 22, 2026 (WAFA) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq strongly condemned statements made by the United States ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee, in which he said it would be okay if Israel took over the entire Middle East.

The ministry expressed Iraq’s rejection of the remarks, describing them as a violation of international law and the Charter of the United Nations. It stressed that such statements infringe on the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states and negatively affect international security and stability.

In its statement, the ministry emphasized the need to respect state sovereignty and reject any practices based on domination or the imposition of a fait accompli, stressing the importance of adherence to international law in a way that reinforces regional and international peace and security.
