RAMALLAH, February 15, 2026 (WAFA) - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates affirmed that the Israeli occupation’s decision to designate West Bank lands as state property is null and void, representing the first step toward annexation and undermining the foundations of the Palestinian state.
In a statement issued today, Sunday, the Ministry condemned the decision, underscoring its categorical rejection of any attempt to transfer occupied West Bank lands to so-called state property under the occupation authority. The Ministry warned that this measure seeks to legitimize the crimes of colonization and annexation, create avenues for the seizure, occupation, and theft of Palestinian lands, and facilitate the expansion of illegal settlements.
The Ministry considered the decision as a direct challenge to the international legal order and the collective will of the international community. It constitutes a flagrant violation of the principles underpinning international peace and security and stands in clear contravention of United Nations resolutions—most notably Security Council Resolution 2334, which reaffirmed the illegitimacy of colonization in all occupied Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem—as well as the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice, which deemed the Israeli occupation unlawful, said the statement.
The Ministry called upon the international community, the UN Security Council, and all relevant legal and international bodies to firmly oppose these escalating unilateral illegal measures, and to take urgent action to deter the occupation and halt the ongoing annexation and colonization that threaten the two-state solution, undermine international consensus, and jeopardize security and stability in the region.
