FM Shahin meets Portuguese and Canadian counterparts on sidelines of Munich Security Conference

MUNICH, February 13, 2026 (WAFA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Varsen Aghabekian Shahin met with Portuguese Foreign Minister Paulo Rangel and Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand, on the sidelines of her participation in the Munich Security Conference.

Shahin expressed the State of Palestine’s gratitude and appreciation for both countries’ positions in support of the Palestinian people, particularly their recognition of the State of Palestine. She emphasized that this step is important for strengthening respect for international law, supporting the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination, and advancing the establishment of a Palestinian state.

Shahin briefed Rangel and Anand on the current situation in the occupied Palestinian Territory and discussed joint coordination to address the serious escalation in Palestine, as well as ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the countries across various fields.
