Presidency slams statements by Israeli minister on Gaza being a part of Israel

RAMALLAH, February 3, 2026 (WAFA) – In response to statements by Israeli Settlement Minister Orit Strook, who claimed that “the Gaza Strip is part of the State of Israel according to international law and the UN Partition Plan,” the Palestinian Presidency stated that “Strook’s claims are baseless and false.”

The Presidency pointed out that the Partition Plan stipulates that the Palestinian state should be established on 45% of the area of historical Palestine, including the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, and the Western Galilee.

It added that all UN resolutions, Security Council resolutions, and international law confirm the falsity of Strook’s statement, emphasizing that the Gaza Strip is an integral part of the Palestinian territory occupied in 1967, just like the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
