RAMALLAH, February 2, 2026 (WAFA) — President Mahmoud Abbas met on Monday evening at the presidential headquarters in Ramallah with a group of Palestinian researchers, thinkers, and academics. The meeting was attended by representatives from the Institute for Palestine Studies in Beirut, as well as several officials.

The meeting comes as part of the President's initiative to document the history of Palestine and the Palestinian people for future generations. During the discussions, participants reviewed the latest developments concerning the Palestinian cause.

President Abbas urged researchers and academics to actively contribute to writing Palestinian history with Palestinian hands, emphasizing that this national effort requires broad participation from scholars and professionals across Gaza, the West Bank, Jerusalem, and the global Palestinian diaspora.
