RAMALLAH, 25 January 2026 (WAFA) – Vice President and Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), Hussein al-Sheikh, met on Sunday with the Egyptian Ambassador to the State of Palestine, Ihab Suleiman.

During the meeting, the two sides underscored Egypt’s pivotal role in implementing US President Donald Trump’s plan, as well as the continued joint coordination on the Rafah crossing, stressing the urgent need to deliver humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, in order to alleviate the suffering of civilians and bolster the emergency humanitarian response.

The two sides also discussed the overall political and humanitarian developments, with Al-Sheikh reaffirming the importance of continued Palestinian–Egyptian coordination and praising the historic role of the Arab Republic of Egypt in supporting the Palestinian cause, as well as its ongoing efforts to promote stability in the region.
