RAMALLAH, 22 January 2026 (WAFA) – President Mahmoud Abbas discussed on Thursday the latest developments in Palestine and the region with his Brazilian counterpart, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

President Abbas and his Brazilian counterpart, Lula, discussed in a phone call the latest political developments and events in Palestine and the region, as well as ways to strengthen bilateral relations.

President Abbas expressed his appreciation to President Lula for Brazil’s unwavering positions in international forums, and its support not only for the Palestinian people’s rights to freedom and independence in line with the UN resolutions and international law, but also for peace, stability, and security in the region.
