Al-Sheikh meets Norwegian diplomats, discusses developments in Palestine

RAMALLAH, January 15, 2026 (WAFA) — Vice President Hussein al-Sheikh met today with Norwegian diplomat Mona Juul and Norway’s Acting Ambassador to Palestine Erik Berggrav to discuss the latest developments in Palestine, particularly the escalating measures carried out by Israeli authorities in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip, as well as the rising attacks by settlers.

During the meeting, al-Sheikh briefed the Norwegian officials on the political and field developments and their impact on humanitarian and security conditions. He emphasized the importance of the international community’s role in pressuring Israel to halt violations and protect the Palestinian people.

Al-Sheikh also expressed gratitude for Norway’s continued support, commending its contribution to efforts aimed at strengthening the Palestinian negotiation positions and its role in backing the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
