NEW YORK, January 15, 2026 (WAFA) — The Permanent Observer of the State of Palestine to the United Nations, Minister Riyad Mansour, briefed Uruguay’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mario Lubetkin, on the latest developments and conditions in Palestine.

Mansour congratulated Lubetkin, on behalf of the leadership and people of Palestine, on Uruguay assuming the presidency of the Group of 77 and China from Iraq, during a handover held at United Nations headquarters in New York.

Lubetkin expressed Uruguay’s readiness to cooperate with and support Palestine, stressing the importance of continued coordination. He noted that Palestine had previously chaired the Group of 77 and China and possesses extensive experience in this field. Both sides agreed to maintain ongoing communication.
